Let’s be honest: who doesn’t dream of a trip here? Sound the trumpets—it’s time to head to Japan!
On this Sto Gran Viaggio group adventure, we explore Japan for 13 days in the best and most practical way possible: on super-fast bullet trains. We travel around on the Shinkansen. We dive into the organized chaos of Tokyo, the temple traditions of Kyoto, and a thousand other amazing experiences. We start in Tokyo, after a side trip to Mount Fuji or Nikko. From there we continue to Mount Koyasan, where we sleep in a real monastery, and then on to Osaka, Kyoto, and Nara with its famous deer. Is that all? Not even close. We reach Hiroshima with its moving Peace Memorial and the island of Miyajimaguchi.
We stay in traditional ryokan, futuristic hotels, and real monasteries, with a perfect mix of tradition, modernity, and adventure that only Japan can offer. After years of traveling through this country, we’ve managed to bring together the very best of it in this Sto Gran Viaggio group adventure.
So, here’s a quick summary of some of the incredible highlights we’ll experience together.
🍌 Akihabara, Shibuya Crossing, Shinjuku, and Yoyogi Park. 🍌 Nikko, a UNESCO World Heritage town. 🍌 Mount Fuji. 🍌 Mount Koyasan and an overnight stay in a monastery. 🍌 Kyoto, the Golden Pavilion, and bamboo forests. 🍌 Osaka and Osaka Castle. 🍌 Nara and its deer park. 🍌 Hiroshima and the Peace Memorial. 🍌 Miyajimaguchi and the island of shrines.
We don’t travel just to say “I’ve been there,” but to feel “wow, this changed me.” We’ll take you on the most beautiful adventure trip of your life—the one you imagine, only even better. Japan, here we come!
Oh, and one more thing: we do not visit the famous monkey forest. We believe it’s a tourist trap, with monkeys kept in captivity just so visitors can take photos, a bit like at a zoo. We’ll spare you that (you’re welcome!!!)
Experiences you'll live
Waking up to the monks’ prayers at the monastery on Mount Koya, by then saints ourselves too.
The sunset over Miyajima, one of the most beautiful in human history.
Taste yuba in Nikko.
Discover that Japan is not just sushi. Quite the opposite.

TOKYO! TOKYO! TOKYO!
Day 2
Welcome to Jappo! We drop our backpacks off at the hotel, freshen up, and get ready for our first little stroll around the city. Our adventure in this urban jungle begins. We take some time to get our bearings, figure out where we are and even remember our own names. Then we throw ourselves into an area packed with dozens of tiny bars that hold no more than 4 or 5 people, bartenders included, as we try to blend in with the crowd. We’re in Golden Gai, a classic Tokyo neighborhood. Many bartenders speak only Japanese, and by the end of the evening we’ll have plenty of great stories to share. Even if we have no idea what they were talking about. If there’s time, we’ll take a nice walk through the narrow streets filled with shops, skyscrapers, neon lights, and arcades. Tonight we stay here in Tokyo!

TEMPLES, SUMO AND YAKITORI
Day 3
We wake up in the heart of Tokyo, and this morning we watch a real training session of professional sumo wrestlers (take a look at the extra activity sheet). We then head to Asakusa to visit Senso-ji, Tokyo’s most famous Buddhist temple. It’s absolutely packed with tourists, little shops, and selfie-takers. On the other hand… actually, no, nothing comes to mind—it has lost a bit of its authenticity, but we’ll show it to you anyway so you can get an idea of just how special the rest will be.In the afternoon we cover plenty of ground on foot toward Harajuku, between Meiji Shrine and Yoyogi Park. We take our time enjoying a peaceful corner of the metropolis, in Tokyo’s most spiritual and authentic sanctuary, with its enormous torii gates and the religious ceremonies of worshippers. We end our day risking our lives at the Shibuya Crossing, where, when the light turns green, thousands of people shoot off in every direction. Come on, come on, come on! We’re at the busiest crossing in the world. Strange that it’s the same place as the most loyal dog: we stop by to say hello to Hachiko. With our feet aching, we spend another night in Tokyo. Sleep tight!

NIKKO, WATERFALLS AND MOUNT FUJI
Day 4
Today we’re taking you somewhere moderately nice. Actually, there are so many options that you can choose for yourself! Tokyo is विशाल and its surroundings even more so, which is why today everyone can decide what they want to do based on their preferences:Option 1: among hills and nature, let’s take a trip to Nikko. We arrive in Nikko in the morning. Surrounded by nature, we wander among little streams and very scenic bridges in one of the most iconic, spiritual, and extraordinary places in Japan. We visit the beautiful Toshogu Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, as well as one of the most important sacred places in Japan. Among golden gates, intricate dragon carvings, and the famous “see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil” monkey, we feel at home right away. For lunch, unfortunately, we try the local specialty: yuba, also known as “tofu skin.”Option 2: visit Mount Fuji.If you prefer, you can join a guided tour to the area around Mount Fuji to see the lakes, small villages, Arakurayama Sengen, and the viewpoints offering the best views of the most photographed mountain in the world. Yes, including that very famous pagoda with Mount Fuji in the background that everyone always asks us about (take another look at the extra activities section).Option 3: continue exploring Tokyo. To each their own: anyone who simply doesn’t want to leave yet can spend another day independently exploring Tokyo, filling up on food and spending money on Pokémon gadget vending machines. We enjoy the fresh air and breathtaking views before meeting up again in Tokyo in the evening.

BULLET TRAINS TO OSAKA
Day 5
Today we’re heading out from Tokyo. We’ll travel on a 400 km/h bullet train along the Shinkansen line. The next stop on Sto Gran Viaggio is Osaka. There’s no better way to begin than with Osaka Castle, built by 100,000 workers. We can only imagine the effort it took, while we’re happy to simply stroll around their immense achievement. And through the park, too. Then we head back toward the city center to fill our bellies. We end the day with a walk through Osaka’s Dōtonbori district, a lively shopping and entertainment area that blends old and new. It was born on the banks of the river of the same name. Oh yes, we’re also stopping by Nipponbashi! This time, we’re turning in for the night in Osaka. IN A MONASTERY, IMMERSED IN HOLINESS
Day 6
We leave Osaka and travel along an ancient railway route toward sacred Mount Kōya, one of the most important spiritual places in Japan.Among mausoleums, deer, pagodas, and more, we immerse ourselves in Shingon Buddhism: we are at Kobo Daishi’s temple, Oku-no-in!Besides soaking up a bit of nature and authenticity, after a lovely walk around the area we finally understand the real reason we came all the way here: we’re staying somewhere truly special! Tonight we sleep in a real monastery, following the rhythm of the monks and experiencing the authentic atmosphere that can only be felt in a place like this. It’s one of the most intense experiences of Sto Gran Viaggio—let’s enjoy it, because we’ve earned it.Just one quick and slightly boring note: From November to February, due to the weather, the night in Koyasan is replaced with Hakone, right below the Fuji area, in a region full of onsen hot springs.

NARA, DEER AND KYOTO
Day 7
We wake up feeling practically saintly. We join the prayers at the monastery and soak up a little more of the magical morning in this special place. Then, after a while, we hop on the little train that runs down from the mountains until we reach Nara, that famous place where the deer have basically taken over the world. We spend a few hours in Nara Park, wandering among temples and Buddhist pagodas, taking them all in. Kasuga-taisha, Kofuku-ji, the five-story pagoda, and the Daibutsuden, home to Japan’s largest Buddha in Tōdai-ji Temple. All clear, right? Your Trip Leader will happily go over everything again — it’s their job, and they know a ton. Pick their brain. In the evening, we head to Kyoto, where we’re free to decide on the spot what to do next, and then the day comes to an end.

FUSHIMI INARI, ROYAL PALACES AND BEAUTIFUL THINGS
Day 8
We’re in Kyoto. And Kyoto is a wonderful way to see what Japan used to be like. Over these two days, we pack in a ton of experiences, including a stroll through the narrow lanes of the Sannenzaka district. Could be worse! At one point, we decide to walk through that famous tunnel of red torii at Fushimi Inari Taisha, one of the most iconic sights in Japan. For lunch, we head straight to Nishiki Market, eating our way among the traditional stalls and the more unusual things on sale. We also make sure not to miss Nijo Castle, the only one in all of Japan to have remained exactly as it once was. Then we visit the Golden Pavilion (Kinkaku-ji), a UNESCO World Heritage Site: one of the most famous and most visited landmarks in Japan. Arashiyama Forest and 7 Wonders
Day 9
Eeeeeeh, good morning! If we survived yesterday’s food coma, we’re heading to the Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. The park’s little paths wind through the giant, towering bamboo stalks. We’ll probably lose our minds over how beautiful it is, but it’s absolutely worth it. After lunch at one of the small local spots nearby, we’ll try to make our way to Kiyomizu-dera, one of the 7 finalist wonders of the modern world. The temple, with its majestic wooden terrace, treats us to an incredible view over the city. To wrap up the day, we explore the Gion district. It’s packed with stone-paved streets and old teahouses. HIROSHIMA AND MIYAJIMAGUCHI
Day 10
Another bullet train whisks us at top speed to Hiroshima.
Once in the city, we head to the Memorial Park and the moving Peace Museum. With teary eyes and deep in thought after seeing the testimonies and the effects of the atomic bomb on this incredible land, we make our way to Miyajimaguchi Station to catch the ferry to Miyajima.
This little ferry takes us to the spiritual island of the shrine, famous for its gigantic torii overlooking the water. It is one of the most iconic postcard images of this great journey. We enjoy the peace of this island, Momijidani Park, and the Daisho-in Buddhist Temple, as well as one of the most beautiful sunsets in human history. We return to central Hiroshima, looking for a place that will add a little more to the collection of extra pounds we started putting on in Japan. In the evening, dinner and a good night’s sleep in the city center.

TOKYO AND THE SPACE CAPSULES
Day 11
Another bullet train whisks us back to Tokyo. 800 km in less than 5 hours — enough to leave Italy’s rail system speechless. It really should be ashamed, honestly. We leave our backpacks at our hotel — which isn’t really a hotel, but a super-modern Capsule Hotel! Basically, we’ll be sleeping inside a futuristic beehive. Free afternoon in Tokyo for shopping, seeing the last few sights, or heading back to your favorite spots. But at sunset, we meet at Odaiba Beach! This little island offers views of the Tokyo skyline and the light shows featuring Godzilla or Doraemon.Tonight, one last dinner to celebrate this amazing journey we’ve shared together. Shall we go back to the restaurant we loved most, or try somewhere new?A surprise ending (well, not anymore) awaits with an aperitif-karaoke in one of those 10-story buildings made just for singing! The Japanese really know how to do it. After the party, we tumble happily into our capsules. Goodnight, Tokyo — you’re absolutely beautiful.

TOKYO AND RETURN FLIGHT
Day 12
One last half-day in Tokyo—what would you like to do?Depending on the flight schedule and availability, we may still have some time here in the city, perhaps for a little sightseeing. Then, with tears in our eyes, we head to the airport to leave Japan and board a direct flight back to Italy. Au revoir.

Boring but important stuff to know
Deposit and registration
To sign up for the trip, you need to: 🍌 Pay a deposit, which you will see indicated during registration, to confirm your spot. 🍌 The remaining balance must be paid 30 days before departure.
What about payment methods? 🍌 You can pay by bank transfer. 🍌 You can pay by card. 🍌 You can pay for your trip in up to 12 installments with HeyLight.
We will show you the final cost of the trip, including any extras you select, during the registration process and in your personal area.
Flight
🍌 Your flight is included in the price, with departure from Milan or Rome. 🍌 You can also depart from other airports — just select your preferred one during registration. If you can’t find the airport you want, write to us and we’ll help you. 🍌 A No-Flight option is available. Basically, if you prefer to arrange your own flight, we’ll deduct the airfare from the trip price and you can book your flights yourself. Then we’ll coordinate to meet at the destination. 🍌 Your flight schedule will be available in your personal area once you have completed your registration. 🍌 And who takes care of check-in? You decide! By default, you handle it yourself, but if you prefer, we can do it for you — just select this option during registration. 🍌 Please read all the flight-related FAQs at the bottom of this page carefully.
Transport and accommodation
🍌 Shinkansen trains*: for the entire trip, whenever possible 🍌 Metro: for getting around Tokyo, we will use the metro or local buses 🍌 Accommodation: we will stay in hotels, ryokan, capsule hotels, and monasteries in shared double, triple, and quadruple rooms**. The properties, especially in the cities, usually have limited space and shared bathrooms. In the ryokan, we sleep on traditional futons, always in shared rooms.
* The Japan Rail Pass is included in the price for bookings made up to 15 days before departure. ** The earlier you book, the better! Availability in monasteries, ryokan, and Koyasan is veeeery limited. Depending on availability and on when you book, we may choose an alternative for the whole group or part of it.
One thing: at Sto Gran Tour, we choose not to use hostels with dorm rooms or low-standard B&Bs, because we want to protect the quality of the trip. One last thing: depending on availability/changes on site, alternatives to the proposed accommodations may be used. A double room is never 100% guaranteed. We have created a dedicated FAQ just below.
Luggage and equipment
🍌You will have one carry-on bag and one small backpack. 🍌 You will find the baggage dimensions and weight limits in your personal area. 🍌 Checked baggage is not included. However, if it is not included in the airfare, you can add it in your personal area. 🍌 You will find the equipment packing list for your trip in your personal area.
Extra activities
Extra activities are experiences that aren’t included in the itinerary, but that you can choose to add to personalize your trip. They’re amazing experiences, but not everyone may feel like doing them. And that’s totally fine! This way, instead of being stuck with an “all-inclusive” package and paying for things you don’t enjoy, you have the freedom to choose.
🍌 You can book them during sign-up, or later in your personal area. 🍌 It’s not necessary for the whole group to do the same activities. 🍌 For those who don’t join the extra activities, there’s always a free alternative. It’s never a key part of the itinerary, so no one has to miss out on anything. 🍌 When specific equipment is needed for an activity, we’ll let you know.
If you feel excited about any extra activities, we recommend booking them as soon as possible. Especially if you’re traveling in high season, they can sell out very quickly. We don’t control the sales, so if spots are no longer available, unfortunately there’s nothing we can do. There’s also a dedicated FAQ in the section “You might have questions, and we definitely have answers.” Take a look.
Requirements for entering the country
🍌 Before signing up for the trip, we recommend checking any entry requirements the country may have. You can do so here by consulting the Viaggiare Sicuri website: https://www.viaggiaresicuri.it/find-country/country/JPN 🍌 It will be your responsibility (yes, it’s on you!) to make sure you meet all entry requirements for the destination country or countries. Sto Gran Tour declines all responsibility in the event of refusal of entry into the country. If you have any questions at this point, ask us anything and we’ll be happy to reply! 🍌 Any visa or government fee will be at your expense.
Meals
🍌 Do you have any intolerances? 🍌 Do you have any food allergies? 🍌 Are you vegetarian? Vegan? Pastafarian?! Do you only eat things that start with Z?!?
Nooo problem! Food doesn’t have to be a limitation on your trip. There’s always a solution, whether at a restaurant or at the supermarket.
What's included, and what's not
Included in the trip price
Not included in the trip price
Common fund
What about shared expenses? How do they work? No one likes traveling with stacks of local cash and doing the math on a calculator every night. So we’ll spare you that stress: traveling with us is much easier.
Each participant takes turns paying shared expenses and recording them in the SplitUp app, which at the end of the trip splits them equally among the whole group. We estimate these costs will range between €95 and €190 for this trip, depending on the number of participants.
🍌 Entrance fees to temples and paid attractions. 🍌 Entry tax for Miyajima Island. 🍌 Other expenses the group decides to include in the shared fund, such as epic karaoke sessions. 🍌 The team leader’s expenses.
Pick your extra activities
Customize your itinerary!
Great idea, with us you can. You can tweak every itinerary by adding the extra activities you want to do on the trip. We've tested and approved every single one. So instead of putting up with an "all inclusive" and paying for stuff you don't like, you're free to choose.
You might have questions, we definitely have answers
Deposit, balance, and insurance
Here’s how the payments work:
🍌 A deposit is due at the time of booking to confirm your spot.
🍌 The remaining balance must be paid 45 days before departure, directly in your personal area.
🍌 You can pay by bank transfer, card, or in installments. Choose whichever option is most convenient for you.
🍌 The final trip price, including any extras you select, will be shown during the booking process, in your confirmation email, and in your personal area.
🍌 Before departure, you can purchase cancellation insurance to cover the cancellation of your trip, provided the reason for cancellation falls within the covered cases listed in the insurance PDF. You can view and download this PDF during the booking process, before confirming your trip.
🍌 Purchasing the cancellation insurance we offer is not mandatory. If you feel it does not meet your needs, you are free to arrange your own policy, and we’ll still be happy travel buddies.
🍌 Sto Gran Tour accepts no responsibility if the reason for a participant’s trip cancellation does not fall within the cases covered by the insurance.
How air travel works
🍌 Your flight is always included in the trip price, departing from Milan or Rome depending on the travel date.
🍌 For an additional fee, you can choose a different departure airport, such as Catania, Naples, Bologna, London… it’s up to you. And if you can’t find your airport, just contact us.
🍌 Group members may have different flight schedules depending on airline availability and the order in which participants booked.
🍌 We’ll share your flight times in your personal area as soon as they become available.
🍌 Booking for two people does not automatically include seats together on the plane, as this is a paid option. However, you can request and add it through your personal area.
🍌 Unless otherwise stated, the flight booking does not include checked baggage. If you really want to add it, no problem! You can do so through your personal area.
🍌 If you are absent at the airport on the day of departure due to personal unforeseen circumstances, delays or cancellations of connecting flights, or other means of transport, you will need to reach the destination independently with another flight at your own expense. We’ll help you find a new flight, as long as you buy the first round of beers when you catch up with us.
Flight not included option
If you’d prefer to arrange your own flights, no problem! You can select the “without flights” option when you sign up. We’ll deduct the flight cost from the trip price, and that’s it. Please note:
🍌 With the “without flights” option, airport transfers are not included.
🍌 With the “without flights” option, domestic flights are still covered by us.
🍌 With the “without flights” option, we ask you to send us the flight times you plan to book, so we can confirm whether they are compatible with the rest of the group.
🍌 With the “without flights” option, before purchasing your flights you must wait until the trip is confirmed. If you buy them before confirmation, we will not refund the airfare portion.
Types of accommodation
Accommodation arrangements are indicated in the “Accommodation and transport” tab, in the “Boring but important things to know” section you’ll find on this page. Depending on the departure date and the trip, the arrangement shown on the website may differ from what is described there. For this reason, you will never see it stated that a specific room type (whether double, triple, or quadruple) is guaranteed with 100% certainty. This is because we often do not have full control over our suppliers’ availability. Please also keep in mind that, on a group trip, sharing is a key part of the travel experience: it may happen that, in addition to an amazing adventure, you will also share rooms and bathrooms. Every traveler for themselves? Not really. If having a double room is absolutely essential for you (like, truly non-negotiable), please contact us before departure! That way we can avoid problems, misunderstandings, and headaches for both sides. Sounds fair?
The Foreman Sto Grand Tour
When you travel with Sto Gran Tour, you’re always accompanied by a Tour Leader. We don’t work with polished bloggers who turn travel into something just for social media, and we don’t collaborate with people who only want a free little trip. Our Tour Leaders are certified guides: experienced, passionate women and men, as well as licensed travel companions.
What do they actually do on the trip, you may be wondering?! Well, the Tour Leader coordinates the group throughout the journey, handling logistics, providing constant support, and building team spirit, without being a traditional tour guide. They do not act as a nature guide, but they make sure each stage of the trip runs according to plan, as far as possible depending on circumstances and the group’s needs. They share useful tips about the itinerary, help manage schedules, and make day-to-day organization easier. Basically, a saint. They’re the go-to person for questions, unexpected issues, and logistical needs. In short: like a super-functional Swiss Army knife, always ready and on the ball.
Group and travel companions
Groups usually range from 3 to 17 people, plus a Trip Leader. The exact number varies depending on the trip. The average age on our trips is generally between 25 and 45, with plenty of exceptions.
Our groups usually bring together people from all over Italy, and they’re all open-minded travelers who love new experiences. You don’t have to be an experienced traveler, and you don’t need to have joined a group trip before. It also doesn’t matter whether you’re traveling solo, with your girlfriend, or with your brother. What really matters is the spirit you bring with you: the desire and curiosity to explore the world and truly experience it. It’ll be what you imagine—but even more.
About a month before departure, we’ll open the Wazzzzup group so you can start getting to know the other participants. You’ll find the Sto Gran Gruppo link in your personal area.
We confirm and activate the trip once we have at least 4 to 6 participants. If we don’t reach the minimum number, you can change your departure date for free to the next available one, either for the same destination or a different one. Or you can request a full refund. So when will you know whether the trip is confirmed or not? About a month before departure, when we total up the number of participants.
P.S.
Are you cursing us out because you’d love to travel with us, but you think you’re outside the age range? Write to us—we might still be able to travel together. And in the worst-case scenario, at least you can insult us in person.
Group confirmation
Almost all of our trips are confirmed. For groups that are still pending confirmation, we will send you regular updates through your personal area. If we do not reach the minimum number of participants (generally 3), you can change your date free of charge to the nearest available departure, either for the same destination or a different one, or receive a full refund. For trips with only one departure date, the "Trip Status" is shown.
How additional activities work
You can customize your trip with extra activities, which you can choose either when you sign up or later on. Please note:
🍌 If an activity is canceled by the provider, you will be refunded.
🍌 Any special equipment required for each activity will be provided on site.
🍌 You can also choose activities after signing up and add them from your personal area for an extra €5.
🍌 We cannot guarantee activity availability if you add them close to the departure date.
🍌 During peak seasons, such as New Year’s and summer, we cannot guarantee activity availability unless you book them well in advance.
🍌 Activity prices may increase at the providers’ discretion.
One more thing! The activities are organized by local providers, so we at Sto Gran Tour are not responsible for changes, availability, or cancellations.
Travel itinerary and changes
Even if you’re joining an organized trip, the spirit is that of a true road trip. That’s right! It’s a real journey: unexpected events, pleasant unplanned moments along the itinerary, stops, weather-related issues, and more. In practical terms, what does this mean?
🍌 The program, as well as the order of the days, may change.
🍌 Nature is in charge. We do not provide refunds of the amount paid for program changes caused by weather conditions.
🍌 Mechanical issues can happen. We do not provide refunds of the amount paid for program changes caused by mechanical problems (for example, a flat tire, a blown fuse, a broken window, a stolen side mirror, and similar situations).
🍌 If travel days or activities are missed due to bad weather or issues caused by suppliers, we will try to make them up if the group agrees with the new travel solution and only if the Trip Leader considers it feasible.
🍌 The layout/size of the means of transport and the accommodations may differ from what is indicated in the travel program due to local availability.
Daily distances
Japan is absolutely packed with things to see and do, so even when we travel by metro, we still end up walking quite a lot during our sightseeing days. The cities are large—especially Tokyo!—so getting from point A to point B doesn’t always mean using public transport.

Just don't send us voice messages, life is hard enough as it is. Other than that, we reply Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
It’s 8:00 PM, and it feels like midnight because of how quiet it is here. We’re on Mount Koyasan, nearly 900 meters above sea level, surrounded by towering cedar trees and mist slowly rising from the valley. We’re staying in a real Buddhist monastery, and even though there’s Wi-Fi, no one dares to use it. Phones stay tucked away in pockets, partly out of respect, partly because it feels like every statue in the hallway is watching us.
We’ve just finished a vegetarian dinner served in perfectly arranged bowls that looked like a work of art. It’s called shojin ryori, the monks’ cuisine: no meat, no fish, no garlic, no onion, yet a surprising range of colors and textures. Some people enjoyed the tofu more than expected, while others are still trying to figure out what exactly they ate. One person swears they recognized a root vegetable, another says seaweed, and someone else insists it was “like jelly, but tasted like the forest.” No one was brave enough to ask for seconds out loud, but every bowl came back empty. Now we’re barefoot, wearing yukata, and walking softly across the tatami so we don’t make a scene. The wood creaks with every step, and every creak feels almost sacrilegious. The group is scattered: some have gone out for a stroll in the Zen garden, some are staring at the raked gravel trying to work out whether there’s a hidden message, others are wondering if it’s okay to speak in a normal voice and are communicating in gestures instead. And some have already retreated to their futons, ready for the 5 AM wake-up with the monks, with chants, incense, and morning prayers.
Outside, the stone lanterns light up one by one along the path. Tomorrow, Okunoin awaits us, the largest cemetery in Japan, where walking among moss and centuries of history feels almost like traveling through time. But for tonight, the silence is enough. Maybe some holiness will rub off on us. Either way, at least a good night’s rest is guaranteed.
This Great Japan is everything you imagine—and then some.

A perfect experience from every point of view! A trip lived 100% that met all my expectations! Visiting Lapland means putting yourself to the test, and I can say that without the organization, but above all without the involvement of our leader Alberto, I would have backed out. Alberto balanced every phase of our trip, staying serious while bringing a great spirit of involvement. His presence made all the difference! Every phase of our trip went smoothly, with no issues in timing, transfers or organization. Even for the little hiccups a quick and effective solution was found. I'd choose Sto Gran Tour again for my next trip with my eyes closed.

Sta Gran Review
The assistance and support I received from the organization before departure were excellent and allowed me to arrive prepared on the first day of this adventure. (Even with a few refunds, everything was clear and simple.) During the trip, the skills and practical abilities of our team leader proved to be the key to making us enjoy the experience to the fullest: from handling the unexpected to organizing the downtime, from helping build the bond between travel companions to supporting each member's individual needs. I'm coming home from this trip very satisfied and sure that, if in the future I choose to take on another similar adventure, "Sto Gran Tour" will definitely be the first travel company I'll consider.

Unique experiences
I've traveled with StoGranTour three times, visiting South Africa, Iceland and Morocco. On all three trips I met extremely well-prepared and knowledgeable guides, with a truly impeccable wealth of knowledge about the land, the flora and the local cultures. I warmly recommend traveling with them to anyone who wants to live a unique experience, thanks to itineraries and experiences planned down to the smallest detail and to fantastic tour leaders.

Fantastic trip to Vietnam
Back from a fantastic trip to Vietnam with Chiara, a flawless tour leader, always present and ready to talk things through with the group for any decision to be made. Wonderful places, between the chaos of the cities and the quietest, most magical green of nature. This is my third group trip and the first with Sto Gran Tour: really well done, with excellent organization.

Thank you Sto Gran Tour!
My experience in Vietnam with Sto Gran Tour turned out to be magical. I loved every second of our trip and appreciated the organization and the attention to detail. The difference was certainly also made by Giulia, our team leader, from whom I learned so much: right from the start she proved very professional and knowledgeable. I'd do it again a thousand times. Thank you Sto Gran Tour!

10 fantastic days in India
This was my fourth experience with Sto Gran Tour and once again I came back truly enthusiastic. A special thanks goes to our guide Chiara, a precise young woman, attentive to everyone's needs, reliable and always available, who accompanied us with professionalism, great passion and friendliness. The tour was organized impeccably: well-studied itineraries, perfect timing and a management of the trip that let us enjoy every moment without worries. I warmly recommend Sto Gran Tour to anyone looking for a serious, competent organization that brings out the best of every stop thanks to the professionalism of its guides. An experience to remember!!

Fuerteventura in November with Bibi!!!
The tour was absolutely positive and well organized, the itinerary complete and balanced, also taking winds and tides into account. Every day had something special: a sunset, a hidden spot, a fun fact about the place... Our team leader Bibi was simply fantastic. The fact that she has lived in Fuerte for a while was certainly a big plus: it let us experience the island authentically, with a few surprising unplanned moments too. At the same time she was very professional despite being "at home", which is not a given and was much appreciated. We felt Fuerteventura a little more ours thanks to her too, as she took us by the hand to every place with sensitivity and friendliness.

Madeira with Marco
It's my second trip with StoGranTour and once again I was satisfied. I found the organization punctual and well structured, with clear directions and the peace of mind of being able to rely on the people in charge. My compliments go to our team leader, Marco Rotunno, who contributed a lot to the success of these eight days. He was engaging but never intrusive, kind, funny and always available, attentive to everyone's needs. An experience I recommend to those who love trekking and active holidays and, above all, to those who want to let themselves be surprised by a landscape, the beauty of a sunrise or a starry sky.

An exceptional first experience
An unforgettable experience in Vietnam: even though I left on my own, I immediately felt at ease with all the other participants (18 people). Very beautiful places, excellent organization, even considering that three days had to be rescheduled because of a typhoon that hit the central part of the country. Several bus transfers, some of them hours long, due to the shape of Vietnam itself, but we knew about it before departure. Team leader Roberto: a great person and an excellent professional. Happy I took part, I'd leave again tomorrow.

Hakuna Matata!!!
Exciting trip to Kenya! Andrea made us live the "safari" to the fullest, cheerfully carting us from one animal to the next (he even knew the exact number of hairs on their bu...). Almost everything worked and even the hiccups were handled like a pro. Fantastic group, as only happens on unforgettable trips.

A truly memorable first trip to Japan
I joined the trip with my partner and it was our first time in Asia. The experience went beyond expectations. The itinerary was carefully planned, and credit also goes to our tour leader, Michele, who enriched every stop with clear explanations and his enthusiasm for Japanese culture. The route offered a really pleasant balance between cultural visits, discovering the local food and moments immersed in nature. The group we shared the trip with was a nice surprise too: curious, engaged people with a genuine desire to enjoy every moment. All in all, an experience I'd absolutely recommend to anyone who wants a first introduction to Japan that's well structured and engaging at the same time!

Trip to Morocco
I left for Morocco at the end of March for my second trip with Stograntour and once again it was an all-round positive experience. The real added value for me is the organization, flawless and never trite in an itinerary that always goes a bit beyond expectations, and the skill of the team leaders: Ilaria was perfect! The group worked really well too, I'm taking home a great memory and I'm already thinking about the next trip!

Ring Road in Iceland
The itinerary let us discover incredible and very different landscapes, alternating waterfalls, glaciers, volcanoes, black beaches, small villages and scenery that seems to belong to another planet. The added value was the group and our coordinator Nicola Ferrucci, a real expert and in love with Iceland. Thanks to him we had unforgettable experiences and visited places off the most touristy spots… he told us legends, curiosities and anecdotes that only someone passionate who knows the place perfectly can know.

Lapland, hunting for the northern lights
I did the trip to Lapland organized by Sto Gran Tour (Dec–Jan) and the experience was excellent from every point of view. The itinerary was carefully planned: well-spread activities, zero downtime and the chance to truly live the essence of Lapland. From the northern lights to the husky excursions, every moment was handled with professionalism and care. Federico, our coordinator, was very knowledgeable, helpful and always ready to share fun facts about the area. I also really appreciated the punctuality and clarity of the organization: transfers, excursions and equipment always perfect. It's a trip I'd recommend to anyone who wants to experience Lapland without stress, with the reassurance of a serious organization and a level of care that really makes the difference. Sto Gran Tour passes with flying colors: an unforgettable experience.

Trip to Morocco 🇲🇦
My first trip with Stograntour couldn't have gone better! I was lucky enough to live a very intimate experience, traveling with a tiny group of wonderful people. Morocco is marvelous and gave us intense emotions. The itinerary was well structured: we went from snowy mountains to the desert, crossed hills of argan trees to reach the immense ocean, and then ended up in the chaos, but also the chill, among the rooftops and gardens of Marrakech. Along the way we met fantastic people. In particular, I won't forget Jawad's welcome and generosity and the beautiful experience at his home. We were guided flawlessly by Rob, a perfect team leader: professional and passionate, but above all a true travel companion. Always smiling and helpful, sensitive and attentive. Thanks to everyone, and see you on the next adventure!

The best trip I've ever...
The best trip I've ever taken. Not only for the place, which is breathtaking, but for the group and our guide, Roberta, Bibi to her friends. Yes, friends, because on this trip a fantastic synergy is created, thanks not only to the personality of each participant but also to Bibi's ability to involve everyone. Bibi was an amazing guide, she looked into everything, from the restaurant to every single grain of lava, so that we could experience Iceland to the fullest, passing on her enthusiasm and sensing, in every single moment, the mood of the group and the needs of each of us.

Japan on the rails
This had been my dream trip since I was a child, so I left with high expectations… but it still managed to exceed them. I chose StoGranTour because it seemed the tour most in line with my way of traveling, and it turned out to be the right choice. The organization was excellent: every day had a well-structured program, with the chance to make small changes based on the group's needs. Plus, at the end of the activities, we always had some free time to explore on our own. The itinerary was carefully planned, but the real added value was our guide, Michele. With his passion and enthusiasm for Japanese culture, he made every visit interesting and never heavy. His explanations were clear and full of fun facts, some tied to the world of anime and video games, creating original connections with what we were seeing. We also really appreciated his choice of restaurants: he had us try excellent food in authentic places we would hardly have found on our own. Another thing that struck me positively was the group: on these trips you never know who you'll end up sharing the experience with, but I got along really well, which made everything even more enjoyable.

Best experience ever
One of the best experiences of my life! I've done plenty of group trips, but this one beat them in every way! A team leader (Cate) full of enthusiasm and passion, perfect organization and better accommodation than many others! Not to mention all the extras. Thank you, Sto Gran Tour really is a great blast, but thanks above all to our Great Team Leader 🍌

Sta Gran Lapland
Second trip with Sto Gran Tour and once again my expectations weren't let down! Thanks to a great group, a great team leader (Alberto) and an enchanted Lapland, even the -30° and the little mishaps turned into memories and stories to laugh about. The experiences on offer were all authentic and completely out of the comfort zone, which in my opinion is what you look for in a trip like this, a trip I'll always carry in my heart while waiting for the next one 💝

If you're thinking about it, do it!
A wonderful experience, cleverly divided into daily goals; I never imagined I could visit so many spectacular places in a single day despite the distances. Our guide Sara was marvelous, super prepared and ready to solve any problem. I recommend this experience to those traveling solo too. The places we rested in were excellent as well, both for comfort and for their position to see the aurora.

Sta Gran Cappadocia 🇹🇷
I'm writing this review just back from a fantastic trip to Turkey (Istanbul + Cappadocia), what can I say, I couldn't have asked for better! It wasn't my first time with SGT and, as I'd already seen in the past, the trip definitely lived up to my expectations. A special thanks to our super team leader Marco Rotunno, who made us experience these magical places at their best ✨🫶🏼

Trip to the Lofoten
It was my first group trip and it far exceeded my expectations. Besides the breathtaking landscapes, I have to say everything was organized down to the smallest detail, from the very nice and comfortable accommodation where we stayed to the itinerary and the activities chosen. Our team leader Nic was very well prepared and patient, ready to solve any hiccup and always offering us alternatives on what to do. With a group made up only of women, he managed to create a unique harmony. I recommend everyone travel with StoGranTour! See you on the next trip together ❤️

Scotland tour, August '26
It lets you drive all over Scotland and its gorgeous islands, focusing on its natural wonders, which you enjoy through scenic treks: the right balance between effort and views, doable for everyone. Yes, it will rain and it will be fantastic. Our tour leader Alberto was attentive to everyone's needs, balancing the sights of the towns we visited, Edinburgh above all, with the beauty of the land and the right dose of lightness, alternating effort and breaks to recharge.

I joined a trip to Namibia with Federica at the end of April 2026; besides her flawless organization, I want to praise her excellent preparation and her passion, which made this trip unforgettable. Sto Gran Kenya
My first solo trip, and I couldn't have had a better guide! The legendary Cruz in the Bush took me among lions, giant animals, breathtaking sunsets and ocean waves. He knows every corner of Kenya, almost as if it were his home. If you need someone to rely on, trust him. There's never a shortage of laughs, but I won't spoil anything else: meet him in person and you won't regret it.
