Oh yesss
You’re the one with your hands on the wheel (or someone in your group is). Can you imagine how awesome that would be?

This Great Journey in Uganda

A small group to explore endless forests with and dive deep into discovering the country. Complete freedom to go at our own pace every day thanks to the self-drive format. Can you imagine what it feels like to make a dream come true? Enough talk—let’s hit the road: we’re off to the Great Uganda!

On this 15-day Great Adventure Group Trip, we take in Uganda’s main highlights in a big way. We go on an incredible, one-of-a-kind safari in search of mountain gorillas in the Bwindi Forest, then another equally unique one to track chimpanzees, and we also visit a social project run by amazing local women, who will show you what they do to improve the community they live in.

It will be a life-changing experience, and we’ll enjoy it in self-drive mode accompanied by a local guide. What’s that? Did you think you’d make the dream trip of a lifetime on a 50-seat coach, rushing from place to place on a schedule set by a brochure? No way. We drive fully equipped 4x4 jeeps built for any kind of terrain and explore Uganda in total freedom.

We set off from the zero parallel, from the Equator in Entebbe, and head northeast. Sipi Falls first, then on to Karamoja, the most remote region of Uganda, where we spend a night with a Karimojong community. From there we cut west toward Murchison Falls National Park. Then? Then straight into the forest to search for chimpanzees and countless other monkey species in the Bugoma Forest. Still not satisfied, we go wildlife spotting for lions in Queen Elizabeth National Park and start climbing into the mountains for the highlight of this Great Trip: a trek through the impenetrable Bwindi Forest in search of mountain gorillas, before stopping by Lake Mburo and returning to Entebbe.

And now, here’s a quick recap of some of the amazing experiences we’ll share together:

🍌 Entebbe and the Equator line.
🍌 Murchison Falls National Park.
🍌 Bugoma Forest and the chimpanzee safari.
🍌 Queen Elizabeth National Park.
🍌 Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.
🍌 A safari in search of mountain gorillas.
🍌 Lake Mburo.

We don’t travel just to say, “I’ve been there,” but to feel, “wow, I’ve changed.” We’ll take you on the most beautiful adventure trip of your life. The one you imagine—only even better.
Uganda, here we come!

What about shared expenses? How does it work?
No one likes traveling with stacks of local cash and doing the math on a calculator every night. Don’t worry, we’ll spare you that stress: traveling with us is much easier.

Each participant, taking turns, pays for shared expenses and records them in the SplitUp app, which at the end of the trip splits them equally among the whole group. We estimate these costs will be between €100 and €180 for this trip, depending on the number of participants.

🍌 Fuel for transportation.
🍌 Tips for local people, firewood for the campfire.
🍌 Remaining meals.
🍌 Team Leader’s expenses.

An evening on your trip

An evening on your trip

Imagine yourself at your lodge in the Bwindi forest. The fire is crackling, the sky is packed with stars as big as coconuts, and you’re still out of breath from this morning’s trek. In the end, we really did make it to the gorillas. And those eyes, just two metres away from you—how unbelievably intense was that? Now you feel loose, emptied out, the way the tension drains from your body after something huge. Around the fire there’s a strange kind of silence: not the awkward kind, but the kind shared by people who have seen something they can’t quite explain. Some stare at their mud-caked boots, some warm their hands, some just watch the flames. Today, in that forest they call “impenetrable,” we truly went in. And a little piece of us stayed there forever.

This is the Great Uganda you imagine—only even more so.
