Incredible discoveries in quarantine

Funny. More than funny—absurd, almost paradoxical.
Our Travel Boom Factory of adventure travel  was launched into the world in December, only to be shut away from that same world exactly 3 months later with the arrival of COVID-19.

We, who usually only have a positive attitude, found ourselves facing another kind of positivity: the kind that, as it spreads, brings fear, pain, and shutdowns—the kind tied to the most serious global pandemic in recent times.

At first, there was a lot of anxiety: all trips on standby, no flights booked, no deadlines or check-ins to keep, no video productions or stories to tell.
Total panic: we who live for the world—how were we supposed to live now, without the world?

Spanish TV, Italian TV, Spanish lockdown, Italian lockdown: our team split in half, our reality divided between the two countries hit hardest by the virus. We devoured newspapers and news broadcasts every day, constantly searching for updates. The result? A nice pile-up of conflicting data. Aaah, just what you need to shake an already fragile balance!

Then, day by day, we found the key to facing our quarantine. And once we found the key, everything changed! We understood what truly sustains us, and the discovery left us stunned: Boom Factory does not live on the world as we thought! Sure, we travel across it far and wide, we tell its stories and experience it fully—but that’s not all we live on.

Identity crisis? Nah—awareness and rediscovery. We realized that, all along, we have lived on quality Time.
It is time itself that gave us the chance to turn the world into our passion, our home. The journeys we have taken, the countries we have discovered, are precious Time we have lived; the journeys we will take, the cultures we will come to know, will be precious Time we will have.

What did we do during this quarantine? This: we took time, and we gave ourselves time.
Because time spent at home, on the couch, is no less precious than time spent traveling. So we used it and truly lived it. Couch Trips were born, new ideas and projects came to life, along with new enthusiasm and enormous question marks that, we are sure, will sooner or later turn into equally enormous exclamation points.

We are emerging from this quarantine a little "battered," but in a way that lets us prove that super old bald man in the white robe wrong.

Mahatma Gandhi, you were wrong. Before, we only had hours—now we also have Time.
