What to see in America? The most beautiful places to visit in the USA with Sto Gran Tour

Have you always dreamed of exploring the most fascinating places in the United States?

Sto GranTour is here to make your dream come true.

From the majestic Grand Canyon, with its breathtaking landscapes, to the timeless charm of Los Angeles and the extraordinary uniqueness of Death Valley, in this article we will take you on an unforgettable journey through America’s most iconic destinations.

Seven must-see places in the United States

#1 Grand Canyon, Arizona

After a grand tour of the national parks and the best places to visit in the western United States, you can put the cherry on top with a visit to the Grand Canyon, another of the world’s natural treasures.

This immense canyon, between 6 and 40 kilometers wide and more than 1,500 meters deep, was formed by the erosion of the Colorado River over millions of years.

It is currently divided into three visitable areas and, although the most popular is the South Rim – since it has the highest concentration of attractions – if you are coming from Las Vegas, it is more convenient to visit the West Rim area, located just two hours away and home to the incredible Skywalk, a transparent platform extending out from the cliff.

#2 Los Angeles, California

Even though the traffic is crazy and the city is so large that it feels more like a small nation than a city, Los Angeles is well worth a visit during your trip to the United States.

In short, it is always worth it, even just to watch the sunset from the Santa Monica Pier, stroll along the canals of Venice Beach, have fun at Universal Studios, or admire the celebrity mansions in Beverly Hills (hey, that’s not so bad, right?).

#3 Death Valley, an extreme place to visit in the United States

Here we are in one of the hottest places on the planet: Death Valley.

Yes, it is unbearably hot (even more so if you happen to be there during a heat wave reaching 55°C), but this national park offers landscapes unlike anywhere else on Earth, with desert, dunes, colorful mountains, salt flats, and incredibly evocative scenery.

That is why a one-liter water bottle (at the very least) is an absolute must in your backpack.

#4 Monument Valley, Utah

If you decide to travel to the United States, you simply cannot miss the red-sand desert of Monument Valley.

Drive the 27-kilometer loop for the best views of the area, which you may recognize from the many films inspired by the Wild West that have been shot there over the years.

Monument Valley lies on the border between Arizona and Utah, although it is part of the territory of the Navajo Nation, the largest Native American reservation in the country.

Alongside America’s constant evolution, you will find many monuments, landmarks, and historic sites that have stood the test of time, serving as icons of American ideals and earlier times on which the United States of today was built.

Even if you have seen them in photos or films, these symbols of America are absolutely worth visiting in person.

#5 Antelope Canyon, Arizona

Water erosion over thousands of years has gifted us a truly spectacular canyon.

In any case, because of its popularity, you need to book your visit several days in advance. The best time to visit is at midday, when the sunlight enters vertically and creates a beautiful effect.

#6 Bryce Canyon, Utah

Utah is home to beautiful national parks, and Bryce Canyon is one of the most striking places to see in the United States.

Its main attraction is the pointed geological formations known as hoodoos. There are many of them, and they create a unique landscape!

We recommend hiking the Navajo Loop and watching the sunset from Sunset Point, the starting and ending point of the trail.

#7 Las Vegas

Although at first glance it may seem that there is little to do and see in Las Vegas (and that the only option is to waste money in casinos), the truth is that the city of Las Vegas is experiencing a sociological phenomenon unlike any other in the world, as it is the American city that has grown the most over the past twenty years.

The Hispanic origin of its name is more than obvious, but what you may not know is that ‘only’ 160 years ago this metropolis was an abandoned desert that belonged to Mexico.

In any case, there were springs in the lower part of the valley that had always encouraged human settlement. In 1900 these springs were channeled to make the water drinkable, and Las Vegas became a stop on the New Mexico–Los Angeles railroad.

In 1931 gambling was legalized, which marked the beginning of its worldwide fame and the construction of the first casinos. Starting in the 1950s, casino gambling in Las Vegas was joined by musical performances, to which Elvis Presley and the city have always been closely linked.

Today, more than 40 million tourists pass through the ‘entertainment capital’ every year.
